 5 Takeaways: MK 103_Spring 2024 


1. When, where, how, and who you are marketing to or your target market, are all important pieces of information for a successful marketing job


2. Consumers can’t and don’t separate a company from the products or services offered, so positive impressions and feedback are imperative 


3. Marketing managers have many responsibilities including but not limited to; watching the company's ROI, delegating jobs to the correct departments, constantly checking the marketing dashboard, and more  


4. Word of mouth is one of if not the best marketing tools as it’s from a source the consumer trusts and is also one of the least expensive


5. Companies divide their products success into four categories; question marks (need a lot of money to maintain their market status, never mind keep it), stars (sometimes need extra cash to get started and have a slow growth but skyrocket to be cash cows), cash cows (generate a large profit–enough to cover the companies overhead and dominate slow-growth markets), and dogs (either unlikely to or don’t make enough to sustain themselves
