Final Post–5 Takeaways: MK 103_Spring 2024

5 Takeaways: MK 103_Spring 2024  1. When, where, how, and who you are marketing to or your target market, are all important pieces of information for a successful marketing job 2. Consumers can’t and don’t separate a company from the products or services offered, so positive impressions and feedback are imperative  3. Marketing managers have many responsibilities including but not limited to; watching the company's ROI, delegating jobs to the correct departments, constantly checking the marketing dashboard, and more   4. Word of mouth is one of if not the best marketing tools as it’s from a source the consumer trusts and is also one of the least expensive 5. Companies divide their products success into four categories; question marks (need a lot of money to maintain their market status, never mind keep it), stars (sometimes need extra cash to get started and have a slow growth but skyrocket to be cash cows), cash cows (generate a large profit–enough to cover t...

WK 15: Acura–Mixing the Old with New To Get a Captivating Ad

Acura 2023 - The Full Line   WK 15: Acura – Mixing the Old with New To Get a Captivating Ad: Acura is a luxury car company known and sold to millions in North America. With that much attention and such a high profile, coming out with head-turning commercials is a must. This is one of those commercials. In this Acura commercial, they display a variety of their vehicles in a similar style to a movie, as if the vehicles are the actors while also using a 70’s song that sounds more 50’s rockabilly, creatively capturing the audience from the start. While these are just some of what makes this commercial successful, there are other key factors as well, such as in the way they display their vehicles and more!  Capturing the audience's attention within the first few...

WK 14: Emma’s Pub and Pizza/ Ronnie Waffles: "Always Somethin' Happenin' "

Emma’s Pub and Pizza/ Ronnie Waffles: "Always Somethin' Happenin' " Emma's Pub & Pizza 2015 "Ronny's Mom" (TV30)     Emma's Pub & Pizza "Johnnie Emma" TV30 (2021)                                                       Ronnie Waffles - Phantom Gourmet .            Reading about personal selling and sales marketing this week, I have chosen to write about Emma’s Pub and Pizza/Ronnie Waffles, local restaurants owned by Ron Emma. Also known as “crazy” Ron Emma who according to Phantom Gourmet is so crazy that he legally changed his name to Ronnie Waffles, yeah that’s definitely a little crazy! One of the key and personal ways these commercials connect with potential consumers is the use of “family”. While I chose a commercial from 2015 with Ronnie’s “mother” there ...

NBA & NHL Playoffs: The Most Marketed Time of The Year

NBA & NHL Playoffs: The Most Marketed Time of The Year     It’s that time of the year again, playoffs! Fans everywhere are watching the games with so much intent and some fans are even making bets and brackets hoping not only that their team wins but they win the bracket prize! The NHL and NBA market the playoffs well, especially with partnerships such as Fanatics or FanDuel. While sports team franchises, T.V. analysts, and the nightly news sports segment help to hype up the playoffs, I think it’s the NHL Bracket Challenge and NBA Pick’em Bracket that really helps to bring this time of year even more to life.  Every year at the beginning of the playoffs the NHL and NBA allow fans to make a bracket in which they can select what they predict will happen with their team or what will happen with the teams that are in playoffs if their team(s) aren’t in the playoffs. Both brackets offer a different prize for the fan with the closest to perfect bracket, w...

Week 12: Subaru–Dog Tested, Dog Approved-An Adorably Relatable Ad for Dog Owners or Lovers Alike

Week 12: Subaru – Dog Tested, Dog Approved-An Adorably Relatable Ad for Dog Owners or Lovers Alike   Subaru Dog Tested | Off-Roading      This Subaru commercial is very successful! It features an adorable Golden Retriever family on an off-roading adventure when one of the baby pups wants to get filthy and muddy and the littlest one in a car seat, which is precious beyond measure, seems to have no interest in being muddy or messy in any regard. So upon getting in trouble with the dad pup, the little one that wants to be messy has the window rolled up on them. This ad is successful in a lot of ways, including but not limited to, how fast it is(only 15 seconds!), the relatability for dog owners, the cuteness and tug of the heartstrings of this pup family, showcasing the durability and versatility of Subrau, making a commercial that is hard to forget with a deep connec...

Vistaprint: More Than Print and More than Just a Promo Ad

Vistaprint: More Than Print and More than Just a Promo Ad More Than Print   In theme with this week's readings of Chapter 18 on “ integrated marketing communications and direct marketing”, I’ve chosen Vistaprint’s “More Than Print” ad as it covers a lot of this week's reading.  Vistaprint’s “More Than Print” ad shows two men with Bostonian accents working at what looks like the Boston Celtics ProShop talking about the different products that Vistaprint offers besides business cards. Vistaprint is a company that offers a wide variety of business items from business cards, flyers, packaging, and more, as the commercial points out, but they also have way more than just needs for businesses. They also offer customizations on a variety of products for the everyday consumer such as cups and mugs, pillowcases, t-shirts, and more. This commercial does a great job of including a lot of promotional elements such as having a partnership with a well-known prestigious name lik...

Week 10: DoorDash-A Company Marketed Versatile

DoorDash: A Company Marketed Versatile       In theme with this week's readings of chapters 16 and 17, the company I have chosen to write about is DoorDash, as they fit well with both chapters.        DoorDash is a company that lets consumers order food, beverages as well as other items such as medicine from your local CVS, groceries, flowers, pet products, and more from a wide variety of small-name and big-name places such as Starbucks, all through the convenience of an app or website. By providing their services in this way DoorDash is fulfilling many different utilities such as time utility by being able to deliver whenever or wherever their consumers need them. This makes them a very flexible company for consumers looking to order lunch at work or a 2 a.m. craving. They also fulfill place utility not only in being able to deliver wherever but also in the large quantity of DoorDash employees there are. By having well over 19,000 emp...
